SEECheck network – fighting disinformation and misinformation through a network of fact-checkers

The project aims to enhance the resilience of the Southeast European information space by strengthening professional networks of fact-checkers and independent media. This will enable them to effectively detect, expose, and counter disinformation and misinformation. The project focuses on developing methodologies for fact-checking and debunking false narratives, raising awareness, and building the capacity of various stakeholders. The core idea is to strengthen fact-checkers’ networks and create regional synergy to combat the growing threat of disinformation.”

The project objectives will be accomplished through a series of targeted activities, including drafting advocacy and position papers for decision-makers at local, regional, and EU levels; developing the SEECheck Network’s communication strategy; producing collaborative regional fact-checking content through a regional newsroom; and organising the annual POINT regional conference and SEECheck network meetings.
